By charging fairly and improving safety for members, Builders & Contractors Work Comp. Fund (B&C) continues to be a competitive long-term work comp. option for contractors and manufacturers. B&C allows contractors and manufacturers to truly buy into their safety programs through joint ownership in the fund. Members can take advantage of our customized, industry-specific claims and loss control experts while benefiting from greater control over how premiums are allocated, which includes the potential for return of surplus premiums. Billing Plan:

The fund bills 25% of the annual premium upon binding with 6 equal monthly installments to follow.


To receive a Quote:

Send the following items to Stacey Gohl at Mackinaw Administrators, LLC:

  • Acord Application
  • 6 years of the following info:
    • Currently, valued loss runs
    • Ex-Mod history
    • Final audited premiums (if available)
  • Description of operations, including current safety/loss control procedures

To Complete the Membership Process:

Once the new member decides to move forward with the quote, the member must complete the MN DOC application and submit it to the MN DOC for approval, prior to binding. The following information must accompany the application to the MN Department of Commerce at this time:

  • $400 one-time payment to: MN Dept of Commerce
  • Experience modification worksheet from MWCIA or NCCI
  • Most current WC policy declarations page and results of the most recent audit
  • Five years of most recent review or audit level financial statements prepared by an independent CPA required for final approval, with annual statements provided each year member participates in the fund
  • Signed application & indemnity agreements (we will provide these to review & sign)


Application Notes:

  • The approval process with the MN Department of Commerce can take up to 60 days
  • A three-year commitment for new members joining the fund is required to avoid penalties, this helps protect the current members and provides a stable market for new members that join
